Last night CCV's Sustain Illinois competition formally launched at Chicago Green Drinks, a semi-monthly networking event organized by the Chicago Sustainable Business Alliance. We were thrilled with the turnout despite the inclement weather! Over 100 people - entrepreneurs, industry experts, students and environmental aficionados - attended to learn more about the competition. The energy was great and there was a lot of enthusiasm for rewarding sustainable companies in Chicago.
The application will be available soon through the Sustain Illinois website. The application deadline is April 3rd and semi-finalists will be notified to continue to the next phase of the competition on April 17th. The event will end with winners announced after a Fast Pitch Competition May 14th in front of the public and panel of judges who are members of the sustainable and green community, local venture capitalists and business leaders in the Chicago area. The public will also be allowed to vote for an audience choice award.
